World AIDS Awareness Day

#EndtheStigma

December 1st is World AIDS Awareness Day with this year’s theme “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Resilience and Impact”. This date was first observed in 1988 designated by the World Health Organization and serves as a reminder to individuals and organizations around the world to bring awareness to the HIV epidemic, to increase knowledge and to speak out to end the HIV stigma.

In addition to the current health crisis, the HIV epidemic also highlights the importance minimizing the effect pandemics have on the lives and livelihoods of individuals and families. “No one is safe until everyone is safe.”

Watch this message from the US Attorney General VADM Jerome M. Adams as the HIV epidemic continues through the COVID-19 Pandemic.
