National Family Caregivers Month

National Family Caregivers Month - Nov. 1-30, 2020

There are over 78 million people who dedicate their unpaid time to caring for family, friends, and neighbors in need. These individuals deserve thanks and recognition all year round, but the month of November provides the opportunity to celebrate them properly as we celebrate National Family Caregivers Month.

National Family Caregivers Month

Caregivers provide care in a variety of ways including financial, medical, domestic, or emotional support; and this can often have a significant impact on their own life. Often, a caregiver’s own health can take a backseat – whether it be physical or mental – and they often work a full-time job in addition to caring for their loved one.

The role of caregiver is the most important role of patient care. It is a role that requires love and compassion that only a family member or friend could provide. A caregiver’s ‘shift’ never ends, which is why this year’s theme of ‘Caregiving Around the Clockis so fitting.

So this month – and always – we celebrate YOU, caregivers! Thank you for your unwavering devotion and the vital role you play in patient care each and every day.
