Grane Hospice is proud to present this passage recently submitted by a family member of a patient that has recently passed. Read how each discipline came together and provided the best care possible during this delicate period of life:

"My husband Dominic Trapani was under Grane Hospice care from February 6th, 2020 until his death on May 21st, 2020. I am so very grateful for the compassionate care he received from your staff while at Elmcroft in Allison Park, Pa. I was introduced to Grane Hospice by what I now consider a Christmas miracle. While visiting Dom on December 23rd, I was told manicures were being given in the activity room. There I met Brandy who I first thought was a Salon owner spreading Holiday cheer two days before Christmas! She told me about comfort Hospice care and gave me a brochure. I made the request for an evaluation on 1-31 and (the admission process) started on 2-6. All of the hospice team proved to be invaluable. Adam kept me updated about Dom's condition via phone. We did not get to meet him personally until the final day. He was so comforting and stayed with us for several hours afterwards until the funeral director arrived.

I had a few phone contacts with the Chaplain who had plans for a medal ceremony that were interrupted by the pandemic restrictions. We met him on the 21st and he was able to arrange for a priest to administer Last Rites moments before death.

Justine was remarkable!! I was visiting one afternoon and she stopped in. She had been there in the AM but said she lived closer to Elmcroft so she stopped down to see how Dom was doing. She also came in on Sunday, which was Mother's Day, to get him ready for the outdoor parade and visit planned for the residents. I think that goes over and above the call of duty! I have left a tablet for Hospice to communicate with me. Justine used this daily until visiting was restricted. Then she Facetimed me for visits with my husband. This helped me live thru the quarantine and I will always be grateful for her. She is professional, kind, compassionate, and truly cares.

I would also like to mention Genna. She cared for Dom only a few days during Justine's absence but she too participated using the Hospice tablet.

If this team is indicative of Grane Hospice, you can be proud of your organization. I will forever be grateful for the care and love they showed my husband. Thank you."
