My name is Amanda Hegedus and I have been in the hospice industry for 6 years. I was miserable working at a bank in my early 20s and I had a friend in nursing school who kept pushing me to become an aide. I had zero interest and it sounded terrible to me! The bank location closed though which left me without a job. Out of desperation and remembering my friend’s advice, I took the class to become a CNA. I am so glad I did! After 3 years in a nursing home, I found my niche in life is hospice. I absolutely love my job and find it so rewarding to be there for people at such a pivotal time in their lives.
